Presently, researches on the topic of climate change and its effect have become a major interest, since influences of climate change to the human life are severe and inevitable. In Thailand, agricultural productions were largely affected by the climate change every year, and in worst case, it can cause death to human. The natural disasters intensified by climate change include, flooding, storm, hurricane and land slide disaster. Application of new technology to increase the industry potential may lead to environmental degradation, which is one of the major causes for climate change. This may be also caused by the over usage of natural resources. Therefore, studies related to natural resource management and climate change issues should be conducted in parallel with disaster management and prevention. This can be achieved by developing the hydro-meteorology prediction models, disaster warning systems and effective disaster prevention systems, and these developments should start immediately.

Objectives of the research unit include;

1. Research development in the field of natural resource, disaster and the effect of climate change, by producing both national and international research articles, patents and also present the research finding in the conferences and proceedings.

2. Producing the graduate students, which their research interests focus on natural resource, disaster and the effect of climate change.

3. Creating a strong connection among the researchers and related organizations.

Area of research composes of 5 fields of interest, which are;

1. Natural resource management, especially, water resource management. This includes surface water management and ground water management.

2. Hydro-meteorology.

3. Natural disaster warning system.

4. Climate change intensifying natural disaster.

5. Natural disaster management, which focus on preventing and reducing its damages.
